Ticket/ Handbuilding basics clay workshop / SAT 29 August/ 1-4 pm - Apple Farm MT GAMBIER

$190.00

This is a SINGLE ticket for the upcoming clay workshop taught by Fruzsi at The Apple Farm at 77 Clarke Road, OB Flat (MT GAMBIER REGION.)

We will be hand-building (not wheel-throwing) and you will have the choice of working with one or a combination of 2 different stoneware clays. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as continuing students.

You can either come with ideas/ Pinterest-inspo ready to roll or enjoy step by step tutorials on how to make a mug, spoons, vase, platter and more!

On average, students in a 3 hour workshop with me make about 4 - 7 pieces each which are later fired and professionally glazed by me, with the glazes that you choose at the workshop!

Places are very limited.

Complete beginners welcome!

There is also a two day intermediate clay workshop happening across this same weekend for continuing students. Please check my other listing if that is more on your level!

--------------------

LOCATION: The Apple Farm, OB FLAT. Mount Gambier.

WHEN: Saturday 29 August. 1-4 pm. Please arrive punctually.

FIRING: The pieces will dry, I will take them to Adelaide the kiln for bisk firing, then unload, glaze them up and then return them 4 to 6 weeks after the workshop. I will notify you.

They are dishwasher + food safe of course. I recommend handwashing.

WHAT THIS COST COVERS: Absolutely everything. (More on the cost breakdown below in FAQs.)

WHO CAN COME: This class is open for complete beginners, no experience necessary. Fruzsi is on hand to assist, and previous groups have achieved great results, and you will too!

Some clay experience is certainly helpful, and may enable you to make more pieces in the allotted time. You even get to choose the glaze(s) you'd like on your wares, or roll the dice for a gorgeous surprise.

As usual, all correspondence and updates will occur via Facebook group 'Clay Workshops with Fruzsi'. Please join!

WHAT TO BRING: A towel / apron to drape in your lap / Trim nails (especially thumb & forefinger)

~~ What to expect/ You can look forward to 3 hours of ceramic making with unlimited professional quality stoneware clay. Included in the workshop fee: • tuition • cost of professional quality materials • tools • glazes • venue hire • packaging and safe transport of wares to and from venue • application of glazes to each piece (this takes many hours!) • labour of loading and managing bisk and glaze firings • firing and kiln costs Essentially, the bulk of the workshop cost goes right back to the student through the material value of their fired wares. On average people have between 4 - 7 pieces returned to them from a workshop.

~Return/ Refund Policy~~ Please purchase wisely - no refund is offered on workshop tickets in any event other than Fruzsi having to cancel. In the event that something 'comes up', workshop tickets can be rescheduled to the next available date if Fruzsi is notified within 5 days of the impending workshop date. No refund or re-schedulement is given in the event of a last minute cancellation or no show, or same day notification.
