This is a ticket for a 2 DAY intermediate handbuilding clay workshop taught by Fruzsi at The Apple Farm, 77 Clarke Rd, Ob Flat SA. (MOUNT GAMBIER REGION)

We will be hand-building (not wheel-throwing) and you will have the choice of working with one or a combination of 3 different stoneware clays, each posessing a different texture, colour and quality, all suitable for coiling.

This workshop is best for those who have some hand-building experience under their belt and are looking to gain a deeper understanding and confidence in making larger pieces. 

This experience would translate to 2 or more clay workshops with Fruzsi in the last 2 years, or other training through the JamFactory, Central School or similar. 

In this workshop we will master rolling long even coils, learn how to join them effectively and in a time-efficient manner, discuss various applications and techniques when it comes to achieving the desired form, experiment with different creative functional and decorative handles and how to join them, and tips for how to dry, store and transport large works safely (among many other things!)

As always, participants request the glazes they would like their pieces to be fired with and I will apply it accordingly. 

I expect participants in this workshop will make one, maximum two pieces, and most likely the largest they've ever achieved! 

Participants are welcome to discuss their ideas with me in advance via message or bring images/ Pinterest inspo or sketches of the forms they're looking to achieve.

This workshop ticket includes a $60 discount as an introductory offer, this being the first time I am running this 2 day intermediate workshop.

LOCATION: Central Studios at 78 King William St, Kent Town - Adelaide. 

WHEN: Sat/Sun, 29/30th AUGUST. 5:30 - 8:30pm.

Please arrive punctually, 5 to 10 minutes early. 

FIRING: Minimum 4 week turnaround.

They are dishwasher + food safe though I recommend handwashing to best preserve the pieces.

WHAT THIS COST COVERS: Absolutely everything.

WHAT TO BRING: A towel / apron to drape in your lap / Trim nails (especially thumb & forefinger) Inspo images/ drawings. Feel free to BYO lunch.

In the event that something 'comes up', workshop tickets can be rescheduled to the next available date if Fruzsi is notified within 5 days of the impending workshop date. No refund or re-schedulement is given in the event of a last minute cancellation or no show, or same day notification.
