SOLO TICKET/ Nerikomi workshop + advanced pattern techniques / Mt Gambier/ SUN 3 Nov/ 4.30 - 7.30 pm

This is a solo ticket for the upcoming nerikomi clay workshop taught by Fruzsi, to be held at the beautiful Apple Farm in OB Flat, MOUNT GAMBIER, SA.

We will be slab-building (not wheel-throwing), combining 3+ types of clay to form one beautiful clay body with a pattern in it. You will have a choice on the day as to what you choose to make, on average students can complete 2-3 larger pieces such as lidded jars or mugs and perhaps a couple of spoons or small dishes if there's time.

Complete beginners welcome!

We will be running this workshop like a pilates class - beginners welcome, we will start with the basics. There will be additional tips and tricks included for continuing students to advance their skills, particularly blending + pattern-making as well as making larger forms such as a pair of tall vases.

WHERE:
This workshop will be held on SUNDAY/ 3 Nov/ 4.30 - 7.30 pm in Mount Gambier.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Fruzsi will demonstrate, then lead the group step-by-step to successfully create a stoneware clay slab comprising of two or more clay bodies pressed together that you will cut to size and form into a cylinder, building it into a functional jar or mug. You'll have plenty of time in the 3 hours to make 2 - 5 functional pieces. The outcomes from these workshops are fired in a gas kiln, completed with your choice of glazes to create pieces you can cherish for years to come.

WHAT THIS COST COVERS:
Absolutely everything. (More on the cost breakdown below in FAQs.)

WHO CAN COME:
This class is open for complete beginners, no experience necessary. Fruzsi is on hand to assist, and previous groups have achieved great results, and you will too! Some clay experience is certainly helpful, and may enable you to make more pieces in the allotted time. You even get to choose the glaze(s) you'd like on your wares, or roll the dice for a gorgeous surprise.

WHAT NEXT:
Following the workshop, the wares take about 4 - 6 weeks to go through the firings and be returned to the venue for participants to collect. As usual, all correspondence and updates will occur via Facebook group 'Clay Workshops with Fruzsi'. Please join!

WHAT TO BRING:
A towel / apron to drape in your lap
Trim nails (especially thumb & forefinger)
